Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has implemented a new restriction on maximum number of outgoing SMSes, in an effort to reduce mass spam SMSes being everyday by various firms and institutions in India. The maximum number of outgoing SMSes is now limited to 100 per day for prepaid users and 3000 per month for postpaid users. So far it sounds good but it's not. The problem is in the way they have implemented this restriction, this new rule is applicable not only to mass spam senders but also applicable to each and every single phone user in India. Many of us have huge friend circle and we can easily cross this limit of 100 SMSes in a day. With this new restriction in place we will have to switch to alternative texting solutions like blackberry's BBM. What do you think, should this restriction be removed ?

After the f8 conference, facebook has been rolling out several new features, making changes to user privacy options, adding more features and altering user interface heavily.

Below is a list of recent features were added to facebook this week .

• Static nav. bar at top for easy navigation through the site.
  
  
• Timeline: Facebook introduced a timeline on user's homepage, probably inspired by twitter. The timeline is a visual representation of your past activities which are laid on your home screen just like a scrapbook.
  
  
• Like button: Facebook has tried to remodel it's like button and add more interactivity. Now instead of just liking a webpage, you can mark it as read, watched etc. So facebook is basically going to allow people to create their own social buttons.
  
  
• Ticker: All less important buzz would not show up on timeline but go directly to ticker, which is a realtime list of your friends activities. It would generally include notifications like who is watching what, playing what etc.
  
  
• Movies, music and much more: Facebook has entered into more partnerships to enrich user experience by adding movies, songs and news powered by hulu, spotify and yahoo news respectively.

During test phase, timeline feature is not available to all users but you can easily bypass this restriction and activate timeline for your account by signing up for facebook develop at http://developer.facebook.com.

This trick is for all those curious people out there who wish to know their friend's balance for whatever reason.

Both you and your friend must have a docomo card for this trick to work.

So pick up your phone and dial 09045012345, select preferred language by pressing 1 Or 2, now select 1 and then type your friend's 10 digit docomo number and finally press one to know his/her balance.

This trick comes handy specially when one wants to cross check excuses like 'I can't call because I'm short of balance' etc. Other than that, it sure, is to know about friend's balance condition. Isn't it ?

Here's a quick post to let you know about a trick to use free GPRS on mobile with mms settings but without any proxy.

Create a new access point with following settings:

Connection name: FreeG
Access point name : rcommms or mms depending on your location.( mms works in north  )
Leave the other settings as they are.
Now goto advanced settings and change DNS settings as :
Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS : 8.8.4.4

Now save the settings and launch your favorite browser ( opera mini or ucweb is prefered ). Use the newly created access point for free GPRS and enjoy with us.

Please note that this trick was found working in Maharashtra and adjoining states but it may work in other states as well. Let me know if it works.

It's very common issue with mobile users, as many of us forget passwords that we set in past mainly because we want our passwords to be strong and unique.
Here, I propose a solution to reset your password for samsung mobiles. This method will enable you to reset password for mobile tracker as well as phone security code. Here's the procedude.

Turn off your phone.
Remove sim card and then turn on your phone again.
Type in *2767*782 # or *2767*782 # on your phone's home screen.
Wait for the phone to reboot automatically.
Now turn on your phone but with a sim card this time.
Goto menu » settings » security » phone lock and change your password.

Please note that default password is 00000000 or 0000

After being tested immensely for 90 days, google plus is now ready to make it's transition form an invite only to a public beta. Yes, google plus is now open to all. In a yet another feature update post on official the blog, Vic Gundotra from Google expressed how happy they are to introduce Google plus's 100th feature: open signups. The post also includes updates regarding pre-existing features like hangouts bringing it to the screens of your phones, though only for android 2.3+ devices with a front facing camera, whereas support for iOS devices is expecated soon. It's certainly good to see how hard they are working to make Google plus stand out and heavily transform our online social activities.

So far, you must have been thinking that just like other websites, you have a single password on facebook. Well it's quite shocking to know that you actually have three facebook passwords and not just one. In fact everybody on facebook has three passwords that they can use to log in. Surprised ? So was I but you need not worry.

The passwords are not a security issue or a bug. Developers at facebook have intentionally done so to make our lives easier. Let me make it clearer through an example. Assume that your facebook password is abCDef, then other two valid passwords for your account are Abcdef and ABcdEF. The explanation for three passwords is quite simple.

• abCDef is your actual password.
• Abcdef is your password in capitalized format. ( Useful for logging from a mobile device ).
• ABcdEF is your password with it's case reversed. ( Useful for logging with Caps Lock on ).

Yahoo's chief executive Carol Bartz has been fired by the internet company after two-and-a-half years in the top job. 


The news first broke on the Wall Street Journal's All Things D website, which quoted an email from Ms Bartz to Yahoo staff. The email has since been reported by other news agencies including Bloomberg and Reuters. 


"I am very sad to tell you that I've just been fired over the phone by Yahoo's chairman of the board," Ms Bartz said in the email to staff.

This small snippet can be used to stop users from using plus and dot operator trick for Gmail and hence stop multiple registrations for a single email address.


After this, you'll have two variables $mail_without_dot and $mail_without_plus that you can use in simple SQL queries to see if a user has already used that gmail address for registering.

We have seen significant changes made to interfaces of various Google services lately, like Search,Gmail,Adsense and now it's Blogger. The new blogger dashboard has awesome looks, sleek interface, easy navigation and better performance. Various sections and customizations settings can be accessed from a single page unlike previous interface where one had to load a new page to go to comment moderation and another new page to access blog settings. This new interface makes user of even more AJAX and JavaScript effects to create a rich blogging experience for us. Another improvements that I noticed was larger area for post creation and editing, template editor and easy comment moderation. One post edit page, you can also see the number of visitors besides each article. To access the new dashboard, you will have to enable it when prompted to or simply goto here.

Currently there's an option to switch back to old interface but I don't know if anyone will use it.
