The process of changing the telecom operator without changing your favourite and distributed mobile number is known as Mobile Number Portability. After a long time discussion among Telecom Operators in India has launch MNP on 20th Jan 2011.
The minimum time to change the operator again is 3 months. Now you have the power to change the mobile operator with out changing your favourite number.
Procedure of Mobile number portability
- To start your MNP process you need Unique Porting Code.
- To get Unique Porting Code you will have to sms as PORT (mobile no.) to 1900.
- Then you will get Unique Porting Code with expiration date of it.
- Now visit to your nearer operator outlet for changing number.
- They will give you the form which costs Rs. 15 only. Attach your ID proof and photo, and follow the instruction given by them.
- After the submission of given form, you will get your new sim card with in 1 week.
- Now you can throw your old sim and your new sim will be activated in 24 hrs.
