New version 1.0 of winamp for Android

In this version 1.0, Winamp for Android introduces new features. Most notably is the ability to download and stream MP3s from Spinner, but there’s also a new Featured SHOUTcast Stations area and extensive UI changes throughout.

The changes include in new winamp gesture controls, redesigned home and “now playing” screens, as well as “listen to…” Voice Action integration and a “free music” section. Sony Ericsson Xperia series owners will also be pleased to hear that issues causing Winamp to crash on their phones have been resolved in version 1.0. Accessing vast amounts of artist information and news directly from the Now Playing screen is now really easy and finally, Wi-Fi sync of music from your desktop PC is now a lot more stable.

Other than some user interface changes, Nullsoft has given their Winamp Android player integration with Snipper which allows you to discover new and free music that you can save for purchase. Winamp 1.0 for Android is available now for free.
