WordPress 3.0 for Setup Multiple blogs

Today WordPress 3.0 released, many blogger waiting for 3.0 releasesince a beta release of it .Major Good News Comes today morning that the popular blogging platform WordPress has been updated to version 3.0.

So,  WordPress 3.0 contains more than 1200 bug fixes and enhancements including a new default theme and a redesigned admin area with lighter colors.

The new version promises to deliver with new features, including: custom backgrounds, headers, short links, menus, post types and taxonomies. Users will have the ability to create custom post types; tweak the way their menu is managed; leverage multi-site functionality;

With this release, “WordPress is now becoming one of the most capable blogging platforms out there,” said Adriaan Bloem, an analyst for the Real Story Group, a research and consulting firm specializing in content management software.

Feature-wise, perhaps the most-discussed addition is the new ability of the software to run multiple blogs. Previously, each blog on a site had to be run on a separate copy of WordPress. Administrators could run multiple blogs from the same instance only by using another version of WordPress customized for this task, called WordPress MU

WordPress webmasters can now setup additional blogs easily from their admin interface. Multi-user blogs are disabled by default and need to be enabled by setting WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE to true in wp-config before the option becomes available under Tools > Network in the admin interface.

The following parameter needs to be added to wp-config:

define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
