safely copy files from pendrive
You would've often wanted to copy files from an infected pen drive without getting infected yourself.
I'll tell you how.
The process is very easy and doesn't require any additional software.
Follow the steps below :
1. Before plugging in pen drive, disable the autoplay function for the pendrive.
On Windows 7 disable it by going too :
Control Panel » All Control Panel Items » AutoPlay
Just uncheck the option "use autoplay for all media & devices".
Lets say you don't wanna disable autoplay, then when autoplay window appears, simply choose take no action. but prefer on disabling autoplay.
2. Open my computers & check the letter of the pen drive, lets say its H.
3. Close my computer goto start -» run
4. In RUN type H: ( the pendrive letter : )
5. Now don't even touch CRTL + A (i.e. select all).
6. Just select the file you want to copy (in case of multiple files, use CRTL & click needed files w/o releasing CRTL)
7. Copy files to your hard drive.
8. Unplug the pendrive.
That's it ! Now you had safely copied the needed files and protected your computer from any kind of threat.
