Get your own edu email address for free - 2011

There are so many answers to why people desire to have a edu email address.

I desired one because they are rare and available only to students and even though I'm a student, I didn't had it until last week.

* Students also get software licenses for cheap. :)

Step to get your own edu email:
  • Open https://eims.maricopa.edu/MAW/MAW.html. ( Powered by Google )
  • Start filling in details on registration form.
  • You can use www.fakenamegenerator.com for creating fake SSN (Social Security Number) and Phone number.
  • Choose a very strong password ( a combination of letters, numbers and special characters ). Remember it or write it down somewhere secure.
  • Complete registration.
  • Once completed, you'll obtain a studentID, edu email address ( studentID@maricopa.edu).
  • Wait for 30 minutes for account activation.
  •  Goto http://mail.google.com/a/maricopa.edu and login with your newly created email ID and the password you chose during registration.
Yay ! Now I have one and hopefully you have one too.

Tip by a commenter:  If account activation is taking too much time, just try to reset your password.

    Got the email. Took a while to get it activated though. (4+ Hours) Testing it now! Good Luck on those wishing to snag one aswell.

    Yeah, it takes a bit more time to activate depending on how hogged there system is.

      nvm .. I read somewhere, we have to request password reset after 30 mins, and it started working immediately after that.
