Indian users can once again access The Pirate Bay and other websites which were earlier blocked.
A high court order, passed earlier, allowed Internet service providers to block a website entirely just to prevent broadcasting or downloading of a single movie.
As a result legitimate websites like The Pirate Bay and Vimeo were blocked for more that a month by ISPs like Airtel and Reliance.
Online protests, growing criticism and Anonymous Indian movement has lead to revision of court orders.
The new court order asks ISPs to block only specific website URLs which contain pirated content instead of blocking whole website.
"The order of interim injunction dated 25/04/2012 is hereby clarified that the interim injunction is granted only in respect of a particular URL where the infringing movie is kept and not in respect of the entire website," reads the updated decision.
