R.I.P. FileSonic - file sharing functionality disabled
After Megaupload.com was officially shutdown and a few people involved in the running of Megaupload.com were arrested, FileSonic.com, an another popular Filesharing website, has backed off from the fight by disabling all file Sharing functionality. If you visit the website's homepage , you'll be greeted with this message:All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.
Upload and download files that you've personally uploaded ? Really ? We have Dropbox for that.
Filesonic has disabled it's primary feature i.e. "File sharing", rendering itself pretty much useless to the masses. It's clear that owners at FileSonic are scared of what happened to Megaupload.

ReplyDeletePretty useless... I can't even host an image file for display now with that sort of service. Now I have to use it for backup, but what then if they disappear? I have to backup locally anyway.
