maps.apple.com redirects to Google maps

No comments:
This week, different sources indicated that Apple is about to launch it's own map service which would be much better than Google maps. It is also expected to sport exciting and unique features, maybe 3D maps too. Apple plans to kick Google maps out by launching a new official iOS app for the service probably with iPhone 6. Try pointing your browser to maps.apple.com and see where it takes you to. Currently it redirects to maps.google.com which is what Apple's service will be competing with.
Apple may impose the map service on their user base but they will have a hard time trying to reach  non iOS users because Google maps is a well established and popular service and Google maps is available for almost all devices.
