maps.apple.com redirects to Google maps
This week, different sources indicated that Apple is about to launch it's own map service which would be much better than Google maps. It is also expected to sport exciting and unique features, maybe 3D maps too. Apple plans to kick Google maps out by launching a new official iOS app for the service probably with iPhone 6. We have yet to see Apple rolling out their own map service but in the meanwhile, people have found something interesting.
Try pointing your browser to maps.apple.com and see where it takes you to. Currently it redirects to maps.google.com which is what Apple's service will be competing with.
Apple may impose the map service on their user base but they will have a hard time trying to reach non iOS users because Google maps is a well established and popular service and Google maps is available for almost all devices.

Microsoft has just officially unveiled the new Xbox Music Service at their pre E-3 press conference. Microsoft showed off the service on stage along with a brief video clip. Xbox Music will be the music streaming service for various Microsoft devices.
They've offered only a few details for now. Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi noted that the service will have a library of over 30 million tracks.
The player itself looked clean and metro-ish in the demonstration video.
Apart for the console, the service will be made available on Windows 8 PCs, tablets and Windows phones. It is also expected to have social sharing features. Sharing tracks with friends and viewing their currently playing song is also a possibility.

Microsoft has recently announced that Internet explorer 10 will be the first ever browser to have "Do not track" (DNT) enabled by default.
DNT, a very useful feature, prevents tracking of your online behavior and activities. Websites and services often track online behavior to target most suitable ads. By sending a DNT header, browser tells third party services to not track user's activities providing users more control over their information.
Currently DNT is available as a built-in option in all major browsers: IE 9, Firefox 5+, Safari 5.1+ and Opera 12. Chrome plans to implement DNT as a built-in feature by the end of this year, meanwhile you can use different Chrome extensions that have sort-of DNT like features. Mozilla Firefox, although sports DNT, has no intension of enabling it by default.
